Hello! My name is Lylian. I am a social work major with UAF. I live in Juneau on the UAS campus, and I work as an RA. I have a little dog named Gracie who lives with me as well. A little extra about me, once I get my bachelor's in social work I plan to do travel social work for a bit. It would give me great experience as well as I can travel to see where I'd like to live, most likely Massachusetts, and I would be able to save up a lot of money. As I do that, I plan on working on my master's degree in social work.
I am very interested and passionate about mental health and trauma. I plan to be a trauma therapist and I would love to specialize in childhood trauma. I could talk about that topic forever and every day. I enjoy anything crafty, I love music and tarot. Journaling, vision boards, things like that. I also recently got into yoga. Fall is my favorite time of the year, I have always loved everything spooky.I love doing anything creative. I have a journal, I like to call it a dump/ junk journal. I write, make collages, and use different mediums in it. I used to be very picky with how it turned out so I never would touch it. Luckily I have grown out of that fear and I don't really care how something turns out, and I mostly like everything in there. I also love painting, I used to do paint pours all the time and I sold a few.

ReplyDeleteYour dog is adorable. So glad you got over your perfectionism fear. Some people have the arrogance not to question the quality of their output, but those folks are really rare. So many professionals I know have bouts of imposter syndrome.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, what makes travel social work different from non-travel social work? Why Massachusetts as a settling point?
ReplyDeleteHello Lylian, what a cute dog. I, too, am very passionate about mental health and trauma. I also want to be a trauma therapist, though for adolescents and young adults. And tarot! Girl, you are speaking my language. You have quite an eye for art, too. I hope you enjoy your semester!
